Maisulan Txabola is a biodynamic, garnet coloured, red wine from Rioja Alavesa.


Maisulan focus on rational viticulture and minimum intervention in the vineyard.  The grapes are manually harvested and then destemmed and fermented at a maximum of 25ºC.  Yeasts come from the grape skins and maceration occurs for 18 days.  The wine is left to age in 100% French oak barrels, second use, for 16 months.


Here's a taste of what you can expect from this wine:

  • Aromas: Maisulan Txabola is a big, muscular and tannic wine with an enveloping nose of black fruit, incense, lavender, and Mediterranean forest floors.  It beautifully incorporates spiciness and minerality. 
  • Palate: It is serious and structured on the palate, with a herbaceous aftertaste.  The crispness of the Graciano grape pulls this wine together in the long, energetic finish.
  • Pairing: Try pairing it with veal, pasta, suckling pig, and poultry dishes.


This is a red wine to enjoy now or keep for a few years!
