Barahonda Crianza is a vibrant and approachable red from Yecla, crafted by Bodegas Barahonda - one of the leading producers in the region. Blending Monastrell with Syrah and Petit Verdot, this wine reflects the warm, continental climate of Murcia, delivering ripeness, spice, and balance.
Aged in oak and made in a modern, fruit-forward style, it offers both structure and drinkability - equally suited to everyday enjoyment or the table.
Winemaking
The grapes are sourced from vineyards of varying ages: old-vine Monastrell (over 50 years old) provides depth and concentration, while younger Syrah and Petit Verdot vines (20–25 years) contribute freshness and structure.
The vineyards are influenced by a continental climate, with cold winters and hot, dry summers - ideal conditions for producing ripe, expressive fruit.
Vinification follows a traditional approach, focusing on balance and varietal expression.
The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, adding complexity, spice, and a subtle toasted character.
