The grapes for this vintage of Albamar Sesenta e Nove Arrobas are picked from individual vines on very old plots. The albariño grapes are then kept on their lees for 15 months before being bottled, unfiltered, and unrefined.
Xurxo Alba, the winemaker, started using grapes from three plots and has now extended his harvest to five plots. If he finds more old vines with the same characteristics, he will add them to the cuvée.
Here's a taste of what you can expect from this wine:
- Palate: In the mouth, this white wine has a lot of tension, which is a characteristic structure of the old vines. This wine is very balanced, with a lot of salinity.
- Pairing: This is a highly rated and very versatile white wine, perfect as an appetizer, with fish, meat, pasta, or rice...almost anything!
