What makes a wine taste like it comes from somewhere?

Is it the soil beneath the vines? The climate? The landscape? The altitude? The way the vines are grown? Or is it a combination of all these things?

For our next tasting at Santina Private Event Space, Ivan will be taking us on a journey into the fascinating world of terroir - what it actually means, why it matters, and how the place where grapes are grown can leave its mark on the wine in your glass.

He’ll introduce four wines that he believes are great examples of terroir-driven wines, each with its own story of place.

We’ll taste them together, exploring what makes each wine distinctive and seeing if we can discover those differences for ourselves.

And, as always, there will be some small bites to enjoy alongside the wines.
